Christian Brothers Services Health Management Services for Religious Says Goodbye to Sr. Rosemary
Sr. Rosemary Ward, SP, Director of Systems/Services joined Christian Brothers Services on June 1, 1988 as the Assistant Manager of Health Management Services for Religious (HMSR). After twenty-one years of service to Christian Brothers Services, and in particular to the Health Management Services for Religious Division, Sr. Rosemary has decided to retire. Her last day is August 31, 2009. Her staff and the many friends she has made during her tenure here at CBS wish her all the best. She will be missed.

The National Association of Treasurers of Religious Institutes (NATRI) Conference will be held this year in Denver, Colorado. Fr. Fran Dyer, OP and Sr. Rosemary Ward, SP will be attending to represent Health Management Services for Religious, Christian Brothers Services.


October 6, 2008: CBS Fundraiser Results
CBS celebrated Employee Appreciation Day on October 3, and employees raised $445 as part of Lee Denim Fundraiser Day to donate to cancer research.

John Airola, Karen Sims and Fr. Fran Dyer OP attend the Denominational Benefits Coalition Meeting in Atlanta, GA.


June 9, 2008: HMSR Meets ANSI 834 Record Layout Standard
HMSR eliminates double data entry by instituting a HIPAA compliant electronic feed with vendor to meet the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) 834 record layout standard.


May 14-16, 2008: CBS Attends Medco Drug Trend Symposium
Fr. Fran Dyer, John Airola, Donna Phillips, Karen Sims and Shirley Sobkoviak attend the Medco Drug Trend Symposium in Orlando, FL.


May 13, 2008: CBS Attends Denominational Benefits Coalition
Fr. Fran Dyer attends the meeting of the Denominational Benefits Coalition in Orlando, FL. The Coalition provides its members greater purchasing power of prescription drugs that benefit members of religious medical programs.


April 22, 2008: CBS Attends Jesuit Health Trust Meeting
Fr. Fran Dyer OP, Sr. Rosemary Ward SP and Annette Craven attend the meeting of the Trustees of the Jesuit Health Trust in Baltimore MD.


May 2, 2008: Community Deductible Trust Meeting
On the 2nd of May the Trustees will be doing the business of the Religious Community Deductible Trust. The business includes receiving the 2007 audit and the financials for 2008 year to date, discussing the Trust investments with Christian Brothers Investment Services, and the pharmacy purchasing program with Medco, plus any other business that may arise.

A new chapter for Christian Brothers Services begins on January 2, as Brother Michael Quirk, FSC, starts his tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer.


November 6-8, 2007: CBS Participates at NATRI National Meeting
Representatives of Christian Brothers Services exhibit at the NATRI National Meeting held at the Hyatt Regency Miami, in Miami, FL. On Wednesday, November 7, Diane Engstrom gives a talk on Business Continuity Planning. That evening, Christian Brother Investment Services and Christian Brothers Services hold a joint Hospitality Gathering at the Hyatt.

The National Association of Treasurers of Religious Institutes (NATRI) Conference held in Miami, Florida will be Nov. 6 thru Nov. 9, 2007. Fr. Fran Dyer and Sr. Rosemary Ward will be attending representing Health Management Services for Religious, Christian Brothers Services.

September 07, 2007: Trustee Meeting of The Religious Community Deductible Trust
The Trustees of The Religious Community Deductible Trust will meet on September 7th in Des Plaines, IL. The Deductible Trustees will be reviewing the Health Benefits, discussing the Financial Status and the January 1st Contribution Rates for the Trust.
