The vocation and formation program of the Brothers of the Christian Schools contains three inter-related continuous phases.
- Fostering the vocation: the first experience of the call to acceptance as a candidate
- Confirming the vocation: initial candidacy to final profession
- Deepening the vocation: final profession throughout life
Each stage of formation involves a circular movement from knowledge, to love, to service (action), which in turn can lead to greater knowledge, love, and service. Collectively the various stages can be seen as an upward spiral composed of these three basic components. A person makes a deeper commitment as he moves progressively along the spiral. |
