The Familiares held their 46th Annual Christmas Dinner on December 7th 2008 at The Crest Hollow Country Club. On this occasion three awards were given out. The Anne E O'Donnell, AFSC Award was presented to Jane Genereux, Principal of Ocean Tides School. She was the first Shared Mission Coordinator at Ocean Tides and was a member of the first Lasallian Leadership Institute. She works diligently at inculcating the Lasallian charism into Ocean Tides. Her commitment to the ideas of St La Salle is apparent to all. Mr Francis J Palamara received The Familiares Award. Mr Palamara was a co-founder of the Christian Boys Association in 1955 together with Bro Aurelius James McManus. He has been a dedicated and enthusiastic supporter of the Familiares and the creator of the Familiares "Man of the Year" award. The George A Centrela, AFSC Award was given to Brother Michael Reis, FSC. Brother Michael has been a De La Salle Christian Brother for 49 years, during which he has been a visionary and leader in the areas of child care and social advocacy for the poor. He is one of the founders of Ocean Tides and Tides Family Services.
