Congratulations to:
- Bishop Thomas V. Daily, Diocese of Brooklyn, on his 50th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood. Bishop Daily will celebrate his anniversary with the religious men and women of the Diocese of Brooklyn at Vespers at St. James Cathedral on Sunday, February 3 at 6:00 p.m.
- Brother Frank Byrne, principal of St. Raymond’s High School, Bronx, on his appointment as the next Brother Visitor of the New York District.
- Brother Clarence Fioke, the Brother Visitor of the New Orleans-Santa Fe District, on his reappointment as the Brother Visitor.
- Brother Dennis Cronin and the entire Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School community on the public announcement on January 23 of the school’s capital campaign, Loughlin Yesterday, Today and Forever. The immediate campaign goal is $7 million with over $4 million having been raised.
- Brother John Norton who was presented with the Spirit of 1976 Award by the Class of 1976 of LaSalle Academy, Providence; Brother John was principal at LaSalle at that time.
- Brother Theodore Drahmann (Midwest District) on the publishing of
- Hermano Santiago – The Life & Times of Brother James Miller (copies will be sent to all LI-NE communities). Brother James Miller Day is Wednesday, February 13.

- Brother Charles Felix of the Bishop Loughlin community for his skillful and energetic work on photographing the majority of the Brothers of the LI-NE District. In a few weeks there will be a current photograph on file at the Provincialate and at the Motherhouse.
- The members of the Beef-o-Rama Committee (the former LaSalle Military Academy Fathers’ Club) for their gift of $50,000 to the proposed DeLaSalle School, Long Island.

- Brother Dennis Lee, Director of Campus Ministry at Manhattan College, will join the formation staff of the DeLaSalle Scholasticate in Nairobi, Kenya for the 2002-2003 academic year. Best wishes to Brother Dennis!
- Brother Michael Dundin is featured as the Artist of the Month on Studioworks (website: www.breslinfinearts.com).
- The LI-NE District now has its own website (www.cbline.org); the site is currently “under construction” but the monthly District News Notes will appear.
Correction: The dates for the Baltimore District Retreat at St. Joseph in the Hills Retreat House, Malvern, PA, runs from 4-9 August 2002 not
4-7 as announced in the District mailing regarding Retreats.
