“Lasallian Youth is a community of believers throughout the entire world joined in faith and bound by service.” (Anthony Miller, Oak Lawn, IL)

Lasallian Youth goes beyond your own high school. The richness of Lasallian Youth comes in knowing and experiencing youth from other schools, cities, states and even other countries throughout the world. The experience of being Lasallian is truly a global one. Lasallian Youth share in the vision of St. John Baptist de La Salle as it becomes an integral part of daily life. The mission motivates students to live the Lasallian tradition far beyond the high school years and carry the message to people everywhere.

“The faith among the Lasallians is overwhelming! Our faith unites us as believers, but the reality is that it connects us to people all over the world. The spirit we've experienced will not die because distance separates us; faith will definitely hold us strong.” (Steve Zlatic, St. Louis, MO)

There are over 60 Lasallian high schools in the United States. More than half have begun Lasallian Youth programs. It is important to know Lasallian leaders from other schools. This kind of leadership network places at your disposal valuable resources for information and new ideas. Perhaps holding a gathering for schools from your area might result from this network and even lead to holding a conference for schools throughout the region.

“I love doing service and working with people. It’s nice to be around people who are faith-centered and believe in the same things you do.” (Jill Schader, Shoreview, MN)

The USA/Toronto Lasallian Youth movement is connected to those in 80 other countries who also share in the Lasallian heritage. This movement crosses beyond language, cultural and geographic barriers. It is a rich program motivated by the story of St. John Baptist de La Salle and is rooted in faith, service, community and a deep concern for global justice.

The service we do has really strengthened my faith and has made me realize how lucky I am. I have found that in serving others, I have received far more than I gave. I am inspired by the people who accept who I am and what little I have to offer them.” (Chris Lempinen, Warren, MI)

“Wherever there is trust, there is community. And wherever there is community forming, there are lifelong friendships forming, too. The experience of Lasallian Youth causes people to open up in ways they never thought possible. To belong to this community is the greatest feeling ever!” (George Morris, Chicago, IL)
