Since 1967, the Christian Brothers Health Management Services for Religious have provided cooperative programs to help religious institutes spread medical costs over time and provide for catastrophic medical expenses. Today, the Religious Medical Trusts serve more than 235 participating religious institutes with more than 10,000 members throughout the United States and abroad.
Medical Payment Programs
Religious Comprehensive Trust
is designed for a religious institute that is geographically disparate and not administratively centralized. The program reimburses 100% of the medical charges with very few exceptions. There are no deductibles or co-payments and the Trust has contracted with several discount networks, both regional and national, which are available to the members of the religious institute.

Religious Community Deductible Trust is similar to the Comprehensive Trust, but does not have a dental benefit. It is a stop-loss program designed to protect against catastrophic and untimely medical bills. This program is ideal for an institute that is geographically limited such as a monastery, and or one which is centralized administratively. All medical bills are collected and summarized for payment by the institute before they are submitted to the Trust office.

Programs for Larger Religious Institutes is offered when some religious institutes are large enough to administer their medical bills without the help of insurance or a cooperative. Christian Brothers Services is happy to serve a religious institute or a group of its provinces, which is in need of an experienced administrator to manage their medical payments program.
