Christian Brothers Services to Attend 2017 LASSCA Conference

Romeoville, Ill., February 1, 2017 – Christian Brothers Services (CBS) will be attending the Lasallian Association of Secondary School Chief Administrators (LASSCA) Conference Feb. 26 - March 1, 2017, in Orlando, Florida.

CBS will be sponsoring Sister Mary Angela Shaughnessy, SCN, J.D., Ph.D., a Sister of Charity of Nazareth. For the past 30 years Sister Mary Angela has taught at all levels of Catholic education from elementary through graduate school, and has served in a number of administrative roles in Catholic higher education. She is considered to be an expert on Catholic education and the law in the United States, and has been named one of the 25 most influential persons in Catholic education. In April 2016, Sister Mary Angela received the National Catholic Educational Association’s J. Albert Koob Merit Award, which is given to an individual or organization that has made a significant contribution to Catholic education. Currently, Sister Mary Angela serves as a Senior Distinguished Fellow at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.

LASSCA is a forum for discussion and a vehicle for action whereby the leadership of the member schools and the leadership of the Region collaborate in the promotion of the Lasallian mission to provide a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor.
