Dear Christian Brothers Religious Medical Trust Administrators and Members:

Amidst the COVID-19 situation, it is increasingly important that people practice social distancing and if they are experiencing symptoms be able to conduct a virtual visit with their doctor.

Protecting our members is our priority. As we strive to anticipate new concerns surrounding this pandemic, Christian Brothers Services is expanding its medical coverage for its Religious Medical Trust members to include coverage for telehealth services with their own providers, effective immediately. All RMT members can expect no cost to them for such services.

In addition, as recent legislation dictates, Medicare is now authorized during the COVID-19 outbreak to expand its own coverage of telehealth medicine.

There are three basic types of telehealth services including telehealth visits, virtual check-ins and e-visits. Telehealth visits are considered the same as in-office visits, which require real-time communication between patient and doctor. Virtual check-ins are brief communications, mainly using text messaging; and e-visits require using a patient portal already established. All of these services are covered.

Please keep in mind you also have quick, easy access to talk to U.S.-licensed physicians anytime, 24-7-365 with Teladoc, which provides virtual office visits, allowing for general medical care in the comfort of your own home, reducing your risk of sharing germs.

We encourage anyone who develops any flu-like symptoms to contact Teladoc and talk about symptoms, travel history, and recent contact with anyone who may be infected with the virus.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.
