Leadership and Staff
Alan V. Weyland, Director
Alan serves as Director of Catholic School Consulting. With more than 40 years of service in Catholic education, he brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the Lasallian values of faith, service, and community. He has been actively involved in Catholic schools, serving as teacher, principal, president, Executive Director for Mission for a religious congregation, independent consultant, board trustee and board chair. Beyond his extensive domestic experience, Alan has contributed to the Lasallian Mission internationally, working in Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa, Haiti, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. His dedication was further exemplified through his involvement in Lasallian formation programs and international assemblies.
Robin Slinkard, Senior Administrative Assistant
Robin serves as the Senior Administrative Assistant and joined Christian Brothers in 2017, holding several roles during her tenure. She has over 35 years of administrative assistant experience and is a member of the Administrative Support Group (ASG) and serves on the Culture Champions Committee. Prior to joining the CBS team, Robin worked for Foley Consulting, Inc., Flagship Mortgage, First Alliance Mortgage and Coldwell Banker Oak Brook at both the residential and corporate offices.

Robert A. Bailey, Adjunct Planning Consultant
Bob has been a junior high and high school administrator for more than 30 years. He brings a breadth of knowledge that spans from the design, project management, and building of school facilities to the design and implementation of new curriculum. Most of his career, Bob has worked in student life programming, combining student activities and campus ministry to promote ways to live out the Catholic mission for all students. Bob serves CBS and its clients on a part-time basis in areas of strategic planning, student programs, activities, and residential life.
Edward J. Barrett, Adjunct Development Consultant

Ed serves as the Director of Institutional Advancement for Providence Catholic High School. Since 1990, Ed has built a successful comprehensive Institutional Advancement program at the school, which includes extensive communications and marketing, fundraising, student enrollment, and annual giving and endowment growth programs. He also conducted a successful $3 million capital campaign. Ed serves CBS clients on a part-time basis, specializing in comprehensive development programs, marketing programs, student recruitment programs, annual giving programs, and capital campaign planning.
Joseph W. Bracco, Adjunct Consultant
Having served in executive-level and nonprofit board leadership positions for the past 37 years, Joe brings a unique and practical perspective to nonprofit management, administration, and fund development. He has held leadership positions on several local, state, and national nonprofit boards of directors in fields as diverse as education, child welfare, university alumni, community outreach, and chambers of commerce. Joe serves CBS and its clients as an Adjunct Consultant in the development of planned giving programs.
Richard J. Burke, Senior Executive Consultant
Richard has 41 years of experience as a consultant, board member, and business manager, providing workshops, seminars, and direct consulting services to schools, parishes, religious communities, dioceses, and school boards. Richard was founder and President of Catholic School Management, the preeminent Catholic school consulting firm, which became part of Christian Brothers Services in 2014. Today, he continues to serve as a Senior Executive Consultant.
Frank J. Cawley, Adjunct Consultant

Frank is the Director of Admission & Enrollment at Mullen High School in Denver. In addition to leading the enrollment efforts at Mullen, Frank is also the Head Girls’ Basketball Coach. Under Frank’s direction, the admission office at Mullen enjoyed a 20% increase in enrollment over a five-year period. Innovative, aggressive, and targeted communication and marketing techniques based on data-driven decision-making led to the enrollment success. Prior to his work with Mullen, Frank worked as an executive recruiter sourcing talent for corporate clientele. Frank and his wife, Debbie, have five children. Frank serves CBS as an adjunct consultant in enrollment management.
Sr. Carol Cimino, SSJ, Ed. D., Adjunct Consultant

Sister Carol Cimino is a Sister of Saint Joseph of Rochester, New York. She previously served as the Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Buffalo, where she oversaw 50 elementary and high schools across eight counties. She served in a variety of positions in Catholic education, including teacher, principal, development director, and consultant. From 2002-2013, she was a national religion consultant for the William H. Sadlier publishing company and traveled to all 50 states to conduct workshops, keynotes, and consultancies. She is proudest of the fact that she is still the only religious woman to be a three-day champion on “Jeopardy!”. Sister Carol serves CBS and its clients on a part-time basis, specializing in school administration, comprehensive development programs, enrollment management programs, and communication programs.
Austin Conley, Ed.D., Adjunct Consultant

Dr. Conley is the Director of Advancement for Catholic Schools in the Diocese of San Bernardino. He has held senior operations management positions for Johnson and Johnson, Baxter Healthcare, Harley-Davidson, Robertshaw, and the Blood Bank. He has taught coursework in lean thinking, continuous improvement, strategic planning, managerial leadership, finance, critical theory, research methods, and customer service in several different countries, for Fortune 500 companies and higher education.
Michael M. Denison, Adjunct Consultant
Mike has spent his entire professional career working in Catholic schools. He is currently a counselor and coach at Loyola High School in Los Angeles. Mike is a highly regarded counseling professional who consistently inspires students to succeed academically, spiritually, and personally. He also holds a license in marriage and family counseling. Mike and his wife Tere are active members at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, where Mike also serves on the school board. Mike serves CBS and its clients in areas of guidance and counseling, group advisories, academic programs, and assessments.
Greg Dhuyvetter, Adjunct Consultant

Greg joined CBS with more than 35 years of experience at all levels of Catholic education. From the earliest part of his career, Greg has been involved in educational reform, working with strategic planning, program development, and faculty development, trying to anticipate and create the new realities of education. He served as a teacher and administrator at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana and as the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Orange for seven years. As Superintendent, he spearheaded several global technology initiatives and introduced innovative funding and governance models for Diocesan schools.
Lois K. Draina, Ph. D., Senior Administration Consultant
Dr. Draina is the recently retired Dean of the College of Education and Human
Development at Marywood University. With 20+ years of Catholic school administration experience, Dr. Draina served as both a Catholic elementary school and secondary school principal. She was a site visitor for the Department of Education’s School Recognition Program, and has done extensive work establishing and developing Catholic school boards for the National Catholic Educational Association. Dr. Draina serves CBS and its clients primarily in the Administrator Search Division overseeing searches for administrators in Catholic schools at all levels. She also specializes in Catholic school governance, curriculum, and administrative functioning and mentoring.
Donald L. Edwards, Ed. D., Adjunct Consultant
Dr. Edwards is the Associate Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Miami. Prior to assuming this position, Dr. Edwards served in various administrative positions and as principal at several middle and high schools. He is a consultant for the Commission on Secondary and Middle Schools of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is frequently called upon to facilitate or chair visiting accreditation committees for government-sponsored or private schools in the area. Donald serves CBS and its clients on a part-time basis, specializing in school assessments, administration, curriculum, and faith community affairs.
Rachel L. Ellingson, Adjunct Consultant
Rachel currently serves as the Director of Student Enrollment at Providence Catholic High School where she helped implement a successful enrollment management plan that includes extensive communication, marketing, and student recruitment programs. She has worked with the school’s Advisory Committee for Student Enrollment, Enrollment Steering Committee, and Student Ambassadors to increase enrollment at the school. Rachel assists CBS clients on a part-time basis with enrollment management, student recruitment and retention, and marketing issues.
Henry Fiore Jr., Adjunct Consultant
Henry is the Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Norwich. He currently serves on the board of directors for five schools in his diocese and is an Adjunct Faculty member at Salve Regina University. He serves on the Diocesan Risk Management Committee and the Uniquely Gifted and Abled Partnership Committee for the Diocese of Norwich. Henry previously served as a principal for 21 years and received the Distinguished Principal of the Year for the Diocese. He is also an autism spectrum disorder consultant and has presented nationally on teaching techniques for children with Autism and ADHD in our Catholic schools.
Susana A. Garcia, Adjunct Consultant

Susana is an adjunct consultant specializing in enrollment management, marketing, and social media planning. She has a passion for making Catholic education come alive for students. Since 2011, Susana has been directing enrollment programs at Notre Dame High School in San Jose, and is currently the Vice Principal for Enrollment and Public Relations there. Thanks to Susana’s strong leadership, careful planning, and targeted marketing, Notre Dame enjoys strong student enrollment. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Susana also brings a strong understanding of diversity and culture to her work.
Susan R. Hoffman, Senior Development Consultant
Sue has served CBS as a consultant and instructor in the firm’s summer Certificate Enrollment and Development Programs since 1994. She spent most of her professional career in the field of institutional advancement, serving a Catholic elementary school, a national Catholic nonprofit organization, a leading K-12 independent school, and a Catholic high school. In her institutional advancement positions, Sue created and implemented comprehensive development, communication, and enrollment programs. Sue serves CBS and its clients in areas of comprehensive development, annual giving, enrollment management, communication, marketing, and Strategic Management Programs.
Joseph D. Hollowell, Adjunct Consultant

For 30 years, Joe served as the Chief Administrator of Roncalli High School in Indianapolis, including 25 years as the school’s first president. During that time, Roncalli earned the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence award three times and was the only high school in Indiana to do so. Roncalli is also one of five high schools in the country to have been honored for its exemplary service-learning program by the U. S. Department of Education. Under Joe’s leadership, Roncalli increased its enrollment, tripled the size of its campus, and through three capital campaigns and other funding initiatives, raised over $35 million for facility expansion, renovation, financial aid, and endowment. Joe serves CBS and its clients on an adjunct basis in areas of administrative organization and leadership development, presidential mentoring, strategic planning, advancement, student recruitment, board training, capital campaign leadership and execution, and all aspects of school communication.
David J. Holquin, Adjunct Consultant
David has been involved in Catholic education for more than 25 years and currently serves as the Director of Development at Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose. At Bellarmine, David directs all fundraising efforts and supervises the Office of Alumni Relations and special events. He recently led the school’s first-ever giving day, which raised almost $300,000 in one day. With a passion for board and council work, David has been involved with numerous high school boards, his church pastoral council, as well as the Mission Council for the De La Salle Christian Brothers District of San Francisco and New Orleans. He has been an adjunct consultant with CBS since 2015.
Jennifer C. Kensel, Senior Consultant

Jennifer has served CBS as a consultant and instructor in its summer certificate administrative leadership programs since 2002. Most recently, she held the position of Vice Principal for Strategic Planning and Marketing at Mercy High School in Middletown. In this position, she was responsible for strategic planning, marketing, development, and public relations. Jennifer has extensive leadership experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. She serves CBS and its clients in the areas of strategic planning, mission planning and the preparation of foundational documents, institutional assessments, administrator searches, and strategic management and development programs.
Kelly M. Lazzara, Adjunct Consultant
For ten years, Kelly worked as a teacher, Development Director, then Principal at Aquinas Academy (PK-8), as well as the Junior High Principal and Senior High Assistant Principal at Greensburg Central Junior-Senior High School. From there she served as the Principal of Vincentian Academy in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. After moving to Virginia, Kelly joined the Diocese of Richmond as an elementary school principal before accepting her current position as Associate Superintendent of School Operations.
G. Joseph Peters, Adjunct Consultant
Joe has most recently served as Associate Executive Director for Catholic Education in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. In that capacity, he served as Chief Operating Officer for the Office of Catholic Education, overseeing Catholic schools and faith formation programs in 70 schools in 39 counties. In 2000, the Archdiocese applied for and received a $10 million challenge grant that was matched with over $8 million for instructional improvement. The success of this initiative has been publicized nationally. Joe has presented at several NCEA conventions and served as a site visitor with the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program. Today’s Catholic Teacher magazine recognized him as a “Distinguished Diocesan Leader.” Joe has served CBS and its clients since 1998 on a part-time basis, consulting, writing, and providing direct guidance in the areas of school administration, administrative structures, administrative span of control, teambuilding, ownership, governance, private school law, clinical supervision/performance appraisal, and school safety.
Thomas H. Posnanski, Adjunct Consultant
Tom has been involved with Catholic education since 1969. He has worked for the Diocese of Belleville since 1978 and is currently the Director of Education. Tom’s professional experience includes overseeing the elementary schools and high schools in the Diocese, school board and parish council training, strategic planning/consolidation, school funding, parent involvement, parent education, enrollment management, and financial management. He has also designed coach certification, family education, marriage and family programs. Tom has been working with CBS on a part-time basis for 15 years, providing consultative guidance to schools and dioceses, specializing in institutional assessment, comprehensive development, annual giving, enrollment management, communication, marketing, and strategic management programs.
Mary Lou Schoone, Adjunct Consultant
Mary Lou has been an educator in the San Francisco Bay area for nearly 30 years. She taught mathematics to secondary and community college students and taught classes in religious studies and worked in campus ministry at the secondary school level. She also served as a department chairperson, Director of Student Leadership and Activities, and Director of Development. Mary Lou served as Principal of Notre Dame High School for seven years. She has trekked in Nepal and Peru, taught for a year in Ghana, West Africa, and traveled in Kenya, Norway, Japan, and extensively in Europe. Mary Lou serves CBS and its clients on a part-time basis, specializing in school administration, governance, Catholic identity, and spirituality programs.
Barbara F. Simmons, Adjunct Consultant
Barbara has extensive experience in both Catholic education and the corporate world. She taught English at the secondary level in both public and private schools, and has been a college counselor and Director of College Counseling at two Catholic secondary schools in California. Barbara worked as Assistant Director of Admissions at Wellesley College, as well as Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Director of Admissions for graduate programs in counseling psychology and education at Santa Clara University. Barbara serves CBS and its clients on a part-time basis, specializing in guidance and college counseling assessments.
Nicholas M. Wolsonovich, Adjunct Consultant
Dr. Wolsonovich has served as Secretary for Faith Formation/Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Orlando, Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Chicago, and Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Youngstown. He has also served as a teacher of Religion and Latin, Director of Guidance, Director of Government Programs, and Director of Curriculum and Instruction, all in the Diocese of Youngstown. Nick serves CBS and its clients as an adjunct consultant in areas of the Catholic school superintendency, school and diocesan administration, assessments, organizational structures, superintendent searches, and administrator mentoring.
Frederick Zilian, Ph.D., Adjunct Consultant
Fred currently serves as International Student Liaison and History Teacher at Portsmouth Abbey School. He has taught there since 1992 and has served as Dean of Faculty, Assistant Headmaster for Student Services, and Head of the History Department. Fred has also served as the Advisor to the Model United Nations Program, in addition to coaching baseball, basketball, softball, and intramural soccer. Fred is also a ballroom dance instructor. A native of New Jersey, Fred and his wife Geri have three children and eight grandchildren. Fred serves CBS and its clients on an adjunct basis, specializing in international student and boarding programs. In addition, Fred will work with secondary school administrators in establishing and overseeing Model United Nations programs.
