Lois K. Draina, Ph. D. Lois K. Draina is the recently retired Dean of the College of Education and Human Development at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Prior to assuming this position, Dr. Draina served as both Associate Superintendent and Superintendent of Schools in the Diocese of Richmond, Virginia. With over twenty years of Catholic school administration, her responsibilities included supervision of both elementary and secondary schools, curriculum development, school board development, long range planning, school accreditation and self-studies, and administrative training. In her current position, she teaches graduate level courses in curriculum, administration and instructional leadership. Dr. Draina also served as a Catholic elementary school principal for five years and Catholic secondary school principal for three years, being responsible for program enhancements, school-wide development activities and teacher training. Dr. Draina has served as a site visitor for the United States Department of Education’s School Recognition Program. Additionally, she has done extensive work on the establishment and development of Catholic school boards for the National Catholic Educational Association. She has lectured and written on the topic as well as worked on-site with a number of local boards. Dr. Draina has wide experience in regional and diocesan accreditation processes, the establishment and functioning of search committees, the consolidation/regionalization of Catholic schools, and teacher and administrative training initiatives.

Dr. Draina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the College of St. Rose, Albany, New York, a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from the State University of New York at Albany, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Urban Services with a concentration in Instructional Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia.

Dr. Draina serves Catholic School Management and its clients primarily in the Administrator Search Division overseeing searches for administrators in Catholic schools at all levels. She also specializes in Catholic school governance, curriculum, and administrative functioning and mentoring.
