Mary Lou Schoone Having grown up on a farm in Wisconsin, Mary Lou has been an educator in the San Francisco Bay area for nearly thirty years. She taught mathematics to secondary and community college students and has taught classes in religious studies and worked in campus ministry at the Catholic secondary school level. Mary Lou has also served as a department chairperson, Director of Student Leadership and Activities, and Director of Development. Mary Lou served as Principal of Notre Dame High School, San Jose, California for the past seven years.
While on a hiatus from teaching, Mary Lou spent three years working with Mercy Housing California, an organization that builds and manages affordable housing.
To balance teaching and Catholic school administration, Mary Lou has trekked in Nepal and Peru; taught for a year in Ghana, West Africa; traveled in Kenya, Norway, Japan and extensively in Europe. If she is not seeing the world through the eyes of her camera or feeling its topography through the soles of her hiking boots, Mary Lou is out on the links working on her handicap.

Mary Lou holds a Master's Degree in Mathematics from Marquette University and a Master's Degree in Theological Studies from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. Mary Lou also holds a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Mercy Center in Burlingame, California.

Mary Lou serves Catholic School Management and its clients on a part-time basis, specializing in school administration, governance, Catholic identity and spirituality programs.
